Set file · what a carton is worth

What does a set actually save, and when is it the wrong thing to buy?

A stack of bottles in one photograph is easy to sell and hard to check. Laid out on a kitchen table it becomes a short piece of arithmetic: what the bottles cost alone, what the carton costs, and what one bottle of it works out at. Everything else on a set page is decoration.

The short answer

Yes — by a real, stated amount. Every set in this store costs less per bottle than the same bottles bought on their own product pages. The set price is the same across every carton, so the only thing that changes between sets is which bottles are inside.

Why does a set cost less per bottle?

Because the saving is real and it has a cause. A carton is one pick, one pack and one delivery instead of three. That is why a set is priced the way it is, and why the same logic holds across the range rather than being tuned per set to whatever the page can get away with.

What does a per-bottle figure actually tell you?

It tells you whether the carton is cheaper per bottle than the singles — and only that. The gut and liver carton holds three bottles that cost 21.99, 22.99 and 13.99 on their own: 58.97 together. At the set price of 50.12 that is 16.71 a bottle. Useful, but it is an average, and the three bottles are not interchangeable — one of them costs nearly twice what another one does.

When is a set the wrong purchase?

Three cases, and all three are worth saying plainly. When one bottle in the carton carries a caution that applies to you — the gut and liver carton contains red yeast rice, and monacolin K is chemically identical to lovastatin, so anyone already on a cholesterol medicine should be buying that bottle with a doctor rather than inside a discount. When you have never taken any of the bottles before, since a carton commits you to three at once. And when the reason you are buying is a discount rather than a routine, at which point a set is the most expensive way to find out you did not need it.

Why is one bottle in a set sometimes the smaller purchase?

Because a set is not a volume deal. The women’s set holds a two-week cycle bottle and a daily bottle — two different clocks in one carton, and one of them costs less than half the other. The per-bottle figure is still true and still an average, and the arithmetic above shows the singles beside it so nothing is hidden behind it.

What should a set page tell you that the product page does not?

The packing list, the arithmetic, and the caution that only exists because those specific bottles share a carton. If a set page shows a photograph, a price and a crossed-out number, it has told you nothing you could not already see in the picture.

Scope

This page describes packing lists, prices and label wording. It makes no claim about diagnosis, treatment or outcome, and a discount is not a reason to buy a bottle that carries a caution for you.

Regulatory

These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

What this page is not

It is not a claim that a set is the right purchase for you. Where a figure would need the physical panel rather than a price, it is left marked rather than filled.
